Stories of people who live in a rural environment, from the sea to the mountains, and who share with us their daily life. What for each of them is routine, for the eye behind the camera is a unique opportunity to enter singular, authentic and beautiful worlds. These are their stories.

DOCUMENTALES ARRELS

Desde 2021 he dirigido cortos documentales para la revista "Arrels. El món que torna". Historias de personas que viven en el entorno rural, del mar a la montaña, y que nos comparten la cotidianidad de su día a día. Lo que para cada una de ellas es rutinario, para el ojo de detrás de cámara es una oportunidad única para entrar en mundos singulares, auténticos y bellos. Estas son sus historias. THE MOST BELOVED HORSES

What started with an idea ended in living with more than 80 horses. Paul and Sonsoles dedicate their farms to the retirement of horses from different backgrounds, retired after racing their whole lives or rescued from situations of mistreatment.
La Corona Residencia Equina is the place where they spend their last years in wellbeing and accompanied freedom, among forests and meadows where they reconnect with the nature of Moianès, in Sant Quirze Safaja.

LOS CABALLOS MÁS QUERIDOS

Lo que empezó con una idea terminó en convivir con más de 80 caballos. Paul y Sonsoles dedican sus fincas al retiro de caballos de varias procedencias, retirados después de competir toda su vida o rescatados de situaciones de maltrato. La Corona Residencia Equina es un hogar en el que pasan sus últimos años en bienestar y libertad acompañada, entre bosques y prados donde reconectan con la naturaleza del Moianès, en Sant Quirze Safaja.

FOREVER, FARMER

Victòria Pascual is a 25-year-old girl from Malpàs (Alta Ribagorça) who left home at the age of 16 because her parents wanted to take her away from the hard farm lifestyle. After studying in Lleida and working in Barcelona she had to return because her father became ill. At the beginning it was provisional, she assumed the responsibility of the farm, but she realized that this was what made her happy. Now she has been living in this environment for two years, where she takes care of the cows, the goats and has started a beekeeping project. She says that with all this "she doesn't need anything else".

POR SIEMPRE, PAYESA

Victòria Pascual es una joven de 25 años de Malpàs (Alta Ribagorça) que a los 16 se fue de casa ya que sus padres la querían alejar de la dura vida de campo. Después de estudiar en Lleida y trabajar en Barcelona tuvo que volver porque su padre enfermó. Al principio fue provisional, asumió la responsabilidad de la finca de casa, pero se dio cuenta que aquello era el que la hacía feliz. Ahora ya hace 2 años que vive en este entorno, donde se encarga de las vacas brunas, de las cabras y ha empezando un proyecto de apicultura. Dice que con todo esto “no necesita nada más”.

WHEREVER THE SEA TAKES US

Salvador Manera was looking for an assistant, and Pat Bros was looking for a change of life. He did not expect that a woman would apply to join him in fishing, but now they have been sharing a profession for more than a year. We left with the anglers at early morning from Port de la Selva (Alt Empordà), aboard the San José, to share a day that, as Salvador says, is full of moments, not hours. We discover how they live their trade with the passion and respect inherited from traditional fishing, women and men who love the sea more than anything else.

ALLÁ DONDE NOS LLEVE EL MAR

Salvador Manera buscaba ayudante, y Pat Bros, un cambio de vida. Él no se esperaba que una mujer postulara para acompañarlo con la pesca pero ahora ya hace más de un año que comparten profesión. Salimos con los pescadores de madrugada de Port de la Selva (Alt Empordà), a bordo de la San José, para compartir una jornada que, como dice Salvador, está llena de momentos, y no de horas. Descubrimos cómo viven su oficio con la pasión y el respeto heredados de la pesca tradicional, mujeres y hombres que quieren el mar por encima de todo.

DELTA CARAVAN

A group of seven interdisciplinary artists from various backgrounds gathered in the Delta de l'Ebre to meet with the last bull farmers in the area and participate in the first section of the spring transhumance. The experience will bring closer two worlds less different than it seems -that of art and the rural world- the artists will extract inspirations and ideas that they will turn into artistic pieces or actions. Project directors: Gabi Martínez y Josep Sucarrrats. Featuring David Carabén, Andrés Cota, Marina Monsonís, Natacha Sensoz, Jaume Vidal, Ada Vilaró, Natalia Zaratiegui, Paco Palmer, Guillermo Borés and Martorell Gargallo family.

CARAVANA DELTA

Un grupo de siete artistas interdisciplinares de diversas procedencias se reunieron en el Delta de l'Ebre para encontrarse con los últimos ganaderos de toros bravos de la zona y participar en el primer tramo de la trashumancia de primavera. La experiencia acercará dos mundos menos diferentes de lo que parece -el del arte y el mundo rural- los artistas extraerán inspiraciones e ideas que convertirán en piezas o acciones artísticas. Directores del proyecto: Gabi Martínez y Josep Sucarrrats. Con la participación de David Carabén, Andrés Cota, Marina Monsonís, Natacha Sensoz, Jaume Vidal, Ada Vilaró, Natalia Zaratiegui, Paco Palmer, Guillermo Borés y la familia Martorell Gargallo.

YESTERDAY'S FARMER, TODAY'S WOMAN

Josefina Vilajosana is a farmer and potter. She was born in a 13th century farmhouse in Berguedà, and grew up among forests, fields and livestock. She wanted to make pottery, but due to her father's incomprehension, she had to wait until she was 18 to be able to study it. Now she has been mastering shape, color and texture for forty years and has focused on spreading knowledge about mushrooms.

PAYESA DE AYER, MUJER DE HOY

Josefina Vilajosana es campesina y ceramista. Nació en una masía del siglo XIII del Berguedà, y creció entre bosques, campos y ganado. Quería hacer cerámica, pero ante la incomprensión de su padre, tuvo que esperar hasta el 18 años para poder estudiarlo. Ahora ya hace cuarenta años que domina la forma, el color y textura y se ha enfocado en divulgar el conocimiento sobre las setas.

THE MAN WHO MAKES WOOD TALK

"My studio is my cave, my little temple" says Txordi Ricart. This artist, who lives in a village in Alta Ribagorça, in the Pyrenees, speaks with the language of wood. He does so from a place where he says he does not see the world go by, but feels it, lives it and breathes it.

EL HOMBRE QUE HACE HABLAR A LA MADERA

“Mi estudio es mi cueva, mi pequeño templo” dice Txordi Ricart. Este artista, que vive en un pueblo de l'Alta Ribagorça, en los Pirineos, habla con el lenguaje de la madera. Lo hace desde un lugar donde dice que no ve el mundo pasar, sino que lo siente, lo vive y lo huele.
